Netbook Reflection 2013

Now that I have a netbook I can learn alot more, research on the  internet, copy and paste work of the internet, play  online games in my spare time, post work on my blog, use google, use gedit, use the webcam toy, create spreadsheets and graphs.

The minus of having a netbook is that some times the internet does not work or is working very slowly, takes a long time to repair, some people try to steal them, and it has problems connecting.

The interesting thing about netbooks is that I can go on games during breaks, listen to music,go on youtube, and view other people's blogs.

Air Presure

Questions:
How can you crush a bottle with hot water?
Hypothesis:
With hot water and air.
Equipment:
Bottle
Hot water
Jug

Method:
1.Pour the hot water into the bottle.
2.Shake the bottle for 30 seconds.
3.Pour out the water and close the lid tightly.

Observation:
The bottle slowly crushes when we poured out the hot water and put the lid on tightly.

Result:
The bottle finally crushed after 1-2 minutes.

Explanation:
The hot water heated the air in the bottle. When the hot-water was poured out and the bottle closed tightly, the air began to less place then the same amount of warmer air, there was now more space in the bottle. To fill the extra space the sides of the bottle were pushed in by the force of the air pressure outside the bottle.

Star Was The Last Of The Jedi

LI:Book Review.

Title.Star Wars last of the jedi.

Author.Jude Watson.

This story is about people trying to save the planet and steal the empire dark vader's plan. The story begins with dark vader that is building a new weapon that would destroy everyone. .At the end of the story someone has a fight with him and he is shot and killed.

My favourite character in this story would be Dark Vader because he is the empire and he can tell people what to do and and he is the strongest of all of them.

I like this book because at the end of the story all of the aliens are dead and the humans rule the world.

The thing I did not like about this story was that it is a fake story and it would've been better if it was real.

I recommend that the age group for this book should be under 12 years old.I have learnt from this book that you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it.

Dear Mr Horan

Kia ora,my name is Micheal and I am a year 8 student at Tamaki Intermediate School and I am in room 8.I would like to say thank-you for taking us on the trip  to Wellington.

I would like to thank-you for taking the time off and organising the trip down to Wellington and letting us have a good opportunity to see some of the cool landmarks around Wellington City. The ferry ride over to Picton was a good experience for me because I have never been on a boat and I enjoyed Picton and it was so much fun.

The visit to Parliament was a good experience for me because I never thought that I would be going to visit parliament where they make all of the laws in the  country. The best thing I liked about parliament was the debating chamber because that is where they argue and disagree with different party leaders. When the Speaker of the House stands up and the party leaders are still talking he can send them out for the rest of the time they are in the debating chamber.

It was an amazing  experience  and I would like to do it again sometime.

Your sincerely
Micheal.

B.M.X Riding

Introduction:BMX was first started in California, United States in the late 1960s. Scot Breithaupt is credited as the founder of BMX. However, it was only in the mid 1970s did BMX go prominently into the spotlight and attract people to it. Thus, manufacturers started creating bicycles specially designed for BMX.When Bob Haro came onto the BMX scene, he brought in tricks used in skateboarding and merged them with BMX freestyling, bringing about the BMX that we know today.

Equipment:
Bike.
Helmet.
Goggles.
Gloves.

Steps.

Step 1:Grab the handlebars as you straddle the frame of the BMX bike, making sure not to push the bike forward. Sit down on the seat and maintain a solid grip on the handlebars while your feet are still planted, making sure not to roll.

Step 2:Lift your feet off the ground on to the pedals, and begin pedaling forward to make the bike move. Turn the handlebars with your hands to make the bike turn the way you want it to go. Lean to the side you want to turn to if you want to make a gradual drifting turn.

Step 3:Press your feet backward on the pedals to slow the bike or stop it.A bmx bike has only rear brakes for the racing bikes. But for the road bikes they have got two brakes one at the front and one at the back.

Rules for the game.

BMX riding is an off-road cycling sport that is a combination of bicycle and motocross origin. It has gained intense popularity over the past 10 years and contributes to the growing attraction to extreme sports. The primary rules for BMX riding cover regulations of the course, equipment and riders. They were established over the course of the sport's rising popularity and are simple but strict.Currently there is a wide range of smaller rules that are available in the BMX handbook.

Conclusion:
Bicycle motocross or BMX is the sport of racing bicycles in motocross style on tracks which use an inline start and have obstacles and also refers to the bicycle itself which is designed for dirt and motocross cycling.
